About DaysBetween

DaysBetween is a small, single-purpose calculator: given two dates — or one date and a number of days — it tells you the span between them, the date at the other end, and how the weekdays fall. Nothing more, and nothing uploaded.

How it works

Every date you enter is converted to a UTC midnight and all arithmetic is done in whole calendar days. That one decision removes the two classic sources of wrong answers: your local time zone and daylight saving time can never push a result across a midnight boundary. Leap years, including the century rule (1900 was not a leap year, 2000 was), are handled by the calendar underneath rather than by approximations — this site never uses a 30.44-day "average month" anywhere.

The counting convention is stated wherever it matters: the standard count is end − start (the days that elapse), and an inclusive option adds the end date for spans where both endpoints belong to the period. The reasoning, with hotel, contract and leave examples, is written up in how to count days.

What it deliberately does not do

The business-day calculator does not subtract public holidays. Holiday calendars differ by country, region and employer, and shipping one country's list as a silent default would hand wrong answers to everyone elsewhere while looking authoritative. Weekdays are counted here; your workplace's holidays are yours to subtract, and the tool says exactly that on the page. A per-country holiday option, chosen explicitly, is planned for Pro.
